14th ovi 3rd arkansas Johnson's Island Clean Up

Johnson’s Island Civil War Prison | April 6th

Each year we hold a golf outing to raise funds for the Johnson’s Island Civil War Prison. We also attend a clean up day once a year to clear the land for archaeological digs and other historical pursuits. To date we’ve raised over $20,000.00 for this project. Our clean up day this year is April 1st. At this event the Friends and Descendants of Johnson’s Island will be having a ceremony where we will burn the mortgage on the property! This is a wonderful occasion as it only took about 8 years to fully pay off the $300,000+ mortgage!

McKinely Dress Restoration Project |
